Finally, A
Student's Detailed Guide For Planning A Senior Grad Night or After Prom
Entertainment!
There are
thousands of details in preparing this year's grad night/after prom. But
don't sweat the small stuff... it's all small stuff, and all of its
important. Food, fun, safety, and entertainment will be a big part of the
event, and if you're planning on have live entertainment, but have never
booked an act before it can be overwhelming, if not challenging at the least.
What type of after prom entertainment do you choose? Do you have a
magician, comedian, caricature artist, ventriloquist, juggler, band,
casino games, climbing wall, musician, or hypnotist? The list of talent
choices goes on and on! But then, how
do you find the right grad night entertainer that is 'family-oriented'? Besides, not all entertainment is right for
a high school audience and their parents. In addition to what's right
for the group, you should also consider what will 'draw' the largest
attendance.

"The Best Comedy Hypnotist" |
My name is
Ron Jeffreys and I’ve been called the "The Best Comedy
Hypnotist". I’ve been performing at school events across America
for the past 25 years. With more than 3000 performances behind me I’ve
learned a thing or two when it comes to planning for, and booking
entertainment into live events. Not having the right live entertainment
for your grad night/after prom would be like trying to put a square peg
into a round hole.

Eager Participants |
"We had concerns that you would not get volunteers, but it was
apparent very quickly that students were eager to volunteer for this new
experience. You really brought in a 'crowd' with the advertising you
provided us with. You’re a great performer and you have a vast knowledge
of your field. I look forward to seeing you next year."

Navigating The Uncharted
Waters
(Most Junior Class Planning Committees
Fail To Pass On Their Experiences)
You’ve
known it’s been coming and it’s now time… it’s time to start
planning for the grad night/after prom event, but did last year’s
juniors leave you a blueprint of how to do it successfully? PROBABLY NOT!
Don’t worry though; you almost certainly have an advisor to guide you
through the 9 months of planning. What could it take? Grad nights and
after proms last only about 6-7 hours and it’s a ‘lock-in’ event…
it’s literally a captured audience! THE REALITY – Guaranteed, it’ll
be 9 months of continual, on-going planning and preparation, and if last
year’s class council didn’t leave you their notes, you could be in
store for some rough waters. And you’re advisor will be a lot of
help, though helping prepare for the event is only a small part of their
overall responsibility to students, the school, parents and the
administration… a very small part. The success of this year’s event
will be upon you and your committee’s shoulders. I’m told the
definition of "insanity" is doing the same things over and over
but hoping for different results! If you want this year’s event to be
better than last year’s, it’s up to you to do things differently!
They've Spent More Than
12 Years Preparing For It... It'd Be A Shame To Through It All Away!
The senior
class has spent the last 12 years of their life doing homework, suffering
through an endless number of lectures, pop tests, SAT’s or ACT’s,
study halls, and assemblies. They’ve probably asked themselves, as have
you at one time or another, when will you use half of the ‘stuff’
you’ve been taught. The times that have really stuck out
in your mind are the ‘EVENTS’; homecoming, football, basketball,
soccer games, and class trips… the ‘things’ that were fun.
Well, Grad Night may not be the most important day in a
senior’s year, but it can be the pinnacle experience and will probably
be the last time friends will spend together. It’s kind of a last
hoorah! Grad nights/after proms, are a time to:
-
Enjoy
-
Remember
-
And to be safe
Put
yourself in the senior classes’ shoes and jump forward to the future for
a moment. It’s your 20-year class reunion and you and your friends get
together to remember the ‘good ole’ days. What will your memories be?
What will they remember most? If you haven’t thought about it, now’s
your chance to create an event that will stay with them for the rest of
their life. You’ve taken on the responsibility of planning the final
GRAND EVENT… responsibility for the entire senior class! For them its’
then on to graduation, college, a career, and a family… in short, LIFE!
There’s only one shot at getting this right.
Look Out For
Unprofessionals – They May Only Want Your Money!
The
founder of Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey Circus, PT Barnum said:
"There’s a sucker born every minute!" Unfortunately, there are
a lot of entertainers who still subscribe to this philosophy. If you’re
not careful, you can pay way too much money for an unprofessional act and
it could wind up costing you more than just your reputation with friends,
peers, parents and school officials. You see, some think the general
public is pretty uniformed about how to go about finding, negotiating
with, and booking live entertainment. The truth is, thanks to the
Internet, there’s more information available online to search out and
research everything you need to know, and watch out for, about live
entertainers.

Entertainment is a business, and those of us who got into it to earn our
living are interested in providing a complete value and a professional
experience for you. There’s no reason you should ‘settle’ for an
unprofessional, ego-driven ‘character’ that is only out for your
money. They’re easy to spot and you shouldn’t get pressured into
working with them… remember, you’re the boss!

Wouldn’t It Be Great If
You Could Find A Guide That Lays Out What You Need To Know, And Watch Out
For, When Hiring Live Entertainment.
(It’s never been available before…
until now!)
It’s no
doubt you’ve had to prepare a report or two, and you can appreciate the
amount of time and research that goes into doing it right. Getting started
on the report is always the hardest part; and so too is deciding where to
start your planning for after prom. I’ve made it easy for you. I’ve
compiled an in-depth report that will show you what to do when preparing
for this year’s senior grad night. This report will give you a detailed
outline for preparing a safe, exciting and alcohol-free evening of fun
that everyone will remember. The report includes "The 7 Pitfalls
every grad night / after prom committee should and must avoid",
including:
-
How hiring the right
live entertainment can increase attendance
-
How the senior’s
perception of the event will determine the success or failure of
grad night
-
How the program’s
theme and design can strengthen the event’s "promotability"
-
Why publicity is
important and how it can help
-
How the after
prom’s venue can impact its success
-
Methods on creating
‘laser-focused’ goals for the planning committee
-
How the evening’s
schedule will affect the attendance
Virtually
every high school in America puts on a grad night or after prom; public
and private… yet every one of them is different. As a professional event
planner (that’s what you are now, at least for the time being) you must
consider the Five A’s of Program Planning:
-
Affordability
-
Appropriateness
-
Attendance
-
Acceptance
-
Assessment
These
should be at the foundation of every decision you make; from the beginning
stages to the moment when parent-chaperons unlock the doors from this
"all-nighter" and release the seniors into the morning sunshine
(just before many of them head for Denny’s).

Behind the Wheel of a Powerful Sports Car |
"After 12 consecutive years, you’ve become an expected part of our
annual senior banquet and each year our juniors hear about the show from
seniors, and look forward to it themselves. To give you perspective on how
long we’ve been doing this, this year’s seniors had just started
school when you first performed at the Grand Haven Senior Banquet. Thank
you for consistently out doing yourself each year."

Safe, Fun, Family-Oriented
Entertainment
There are
thousands of big and little details you’ll need to plan for to ensure a
safe, exciting and fun-filled grad night experience. As the responsible
group for planning the senior class’ final ‘fun’ event, you’ll
want it to be a success. If you define success, as other after prom
committee’s I’ve worked with have, as having a fun, safe, and sober
night then I’d welcome the opportunity to you help achieve your goals.
I’ve
been performing my style of comedy hypnosis before colleges, universities,
high schools, and more specifically Grad Night and After Prom events for
25 years. In that time I, and the many who have booked my show, found that
comedy hypnosis draws the largest crowd of people; unlike any other
form of live entertainment. Why? Imagine more than 15 of your seniors
volunteering, quickly hypnotized and moments later cheering for an
imaginary horse in a nonexistent race who they believe will pay them
$500,000.00 in cash prizes; or speeding along in a high performance car
being chased by police; or a volunteer who can fluently translate the
Martian language spoken by another, or participants holding a shoe to
their ear and dancing hysterically to the music they believe is playing
from it. These are just a few of the many outrageous, family-oriented
skits the audience will find themselves laughing at uncontrollably.

There's Music In My Shoe! |
But
planning a hilariously fun event will mean nothing if no one knows about
it… that means promoting it. I mean more than a few banners decked out
with tempera paint plastered around the school; I’m talking about
professional quality promotional and marketing materials. The kind you’d
pay big dollars for normally, but included with my show, they’re bonuses
you get FREE!
To help make your After Prom or Grad Night even more successful, I'm going to throw in 6 Super Bonuses FREE!
Super Bonus 1

Super Bonus 2
Publicity and
promotional help, ALL YOURS FREE. One of the
biggest challenges you’ll face is getting the word out, building
excitement and growing the attendance. That’s were I can help. Included
with every booking you’ll receive FREE:
-
Full-color posters ($65.00 value) announcing my show at your school’s grad night. Plenty of poster to
plaster around the school.
-
Table tent announcements ($30.00
value) These are printed, pyramid shaped announcements that can be
distributed on tables throughout the school and cafeteria.
-
A professionally written
media release ($100.00
value) that you can submit to your school
newspaper, as well as you community’s local newspapers, cable and
television stations. This is free publicity that can get the message
out to the whole community.
A FREE blog! Create a diary leading up to this year’s grad night, or use it as
forum to get instant feedback from you classmates on what they want
to see at this year’s event.
-
customized video
commercial ($400.00
value) produced specifically for your school.
I will create a video where I personally announce and promote my
show to your school, including pictures of your school, where grad
night will take place, other events planned for the night and
finally, a short ‘teaser’ promo of my show; excerpts from other
performances I’ve done to tease the senior class with the fun and
crazy things they can expect their classmate doing at this year’s
grad night. This one promo piece alone will create a ‘buzz’
throughout the school that no one will be able to stop. Many schools
have their own access channel on the local cable network. This is a
great place to run this promo. Not only will the school get to see
it, but so too will the community (which could make the job of
getting adults to volunteer as chaperons easier).

your guidance and help."

grad night. ($100.00 value)
Super Bonus 4
